Volunteer Opportunities

We are always looking for volunteers to assist in all parts of our ministry including: office, maintenance, and summer programs. Contact us for an application form and to see about specific times and needs. We will match volunteers with their own strengths. Summer Employment

Wesley Woods is excited to begin the hiring process for 2018! If you served with us before, we welcome the opportunity to hear from you again. If you are new to the Wesley Woods community we are so excited to get to know you! Please check out the positions we are hiring and apply for the position you feel best suits your skills and qualities. We love to do interviews in person but understand that due to time constraints and distance that isn’t always possible. In these cases we are happy to work out other arrangements.

Available Positions for Summer 2018:

Counseling and Support Roles
Counseling and support staff roles will be filled by those that are 18 years old and older. All counseling positions will rotate with program positions (lifeguard, ropes staff) depending on the needs for individual weeks. If you’re not already a lifeguard and would be interested in becoming certified, please let us know!

Kitchen Staff
Passionate about food service? We need you! Kitchen staff will work directly with our food service coordinator to provide excellent meals to campers, guests, and staff.

Wesley Woods counselors will spend Sunday through Friday with their camper group leading Bible Studies, activities, and ensuring the group is safe while enjoying all that Wesley Woods has to offer! Please note that camper groups vary by age and sometimes include special needs individuals.

Equestrian Staff
Equestrian staff must have previous horse experience and can expect a lengthy interview process that will involve time spent in our equestrian center.¬† We have a very natural approach and philosophy to our program. Equestrian staff will spend their time sharing their love of Christ through the horse program with campers of all ages and abilities including those with special needs. They’ll be working with campers on the ground, in the saddle and on daily trail rides.

Leadership Roles: All leadership roles require that applicants are 20 years old or older by May 2018, and are mature in their Christian faith.

Junior Staff Coordinator
Our Junior Staff coordinators have the opportunity to lead high school youth in a weekly program that supports growth in leadership ability, Christian faith, and of course fun and fellowship at camp! The Junior Staff are a vital part of our community, coordinators can look forward to a rewarding summer of building relationships and mentoring the youth the volunteer to help Wesley Woods run smoothly.

Counselor Coordinators (Inpost & Outpost Coordinators)
Our Counselor Coordinators will oversee the weekly counseling staff and groups. Coordinators are hired to ensure that counseling staff have what they need to create a great week with campers. Coordinators are expected to help with schedules, creating healthy camper group dynamics, assist with camper check in/out, lead devotions, and other leadership duties.

Adventure Program Coordinator
The Adventure Program Coordinator will oversee our waterfront areas, pool, archery, and high and low ropes courses. This person will be in charge of staffing and scheduling for programing areas.

Health Center Coordinator
The Health Center Coordinator should be a person that is going into a medical field or has previous medical experience. This person will be in charge of camper medications, learning of camper and staff dietary needs, and working with parents to ensure campers are well cared for during their time spent at camp.

Frequently Asked Questions:

When do contracts start and end?

  • May 27th through August 11th. The first 2 weeks of contracts are specifically for staff training. You may be asked to come a week early for specialized trainings.

Will I have time off?

  • Yes! All counselors will receive an hour of time off during days that campers are on site. Staff will also receive time off Friday from 9:00pm till Sunday at 11:00am.

What if I need a week off?

  • We understand that life happens outside of camp, and we’d love to work with you. We do need to know however if you need a week off prior to the summer starting. You’ll see a “time off” question on your application, please list all the time you’ll need off there. If you need additional time off during the summer, we’ll try to accommodate, but no promises can be made.

What will I get paid?

  • Summer staff salaries start at $2,500, this number is increased for returning staff, certifications that you might already have or receive, ect.

Where will I stay?

  • ¬†Everyone has a bunk in our staff housing area. This is similar to dorm style housing - two bunks to a room, communal bathrooms, common living room area. Boys and girls are on separate halls. Counseling staff stay with their camper groups during the week in camper accommodations.
